TWMS Athletics

The Tri-West Middle School Athletic Department offers multiple sports for student athletes in 6th through 8th grade who are enrolled at TWMS.

Fall Sports: Football (7th and 8th grade), Girls Volleyball (7th and 8th grade), Coed Cross Country (6th-8th grade), Girls Golf (6th-8th grade), Boys Tennis (6th-8th grade)

Winter Sports: Boys Basketball (7th and 8th grade), Girls Basketball (7th and 8th grade), Wrestling (6th- 8th grade), Swimming (6th-8th grade)

Spring Sports: Boys Baseball (7th and 8th grade), Girls Softball (7th and 8th grade), Track and Field (6th-8th grade), Boys Golf (6th-8th grade), Girls Tennis (6th-8th grade)

Student Eligibility

In order to be academically eligible all student athletes must pass a minimum of five (5) subjects and fail no more than one (1) core course.

Tri-West has four 9-week grading periods. Student scholastic eligibility will be determined the day report cards are issued. A sound education is the foundation for any successful athletic program.

Physicals

Tri-West Athletics has moved to a paperless clearance process as it regards the athletic physicals.

In order to place your student in the "clear" category, that is, participate in practices/tryouts and athletic events, we will need you to do the following:

1.  Create an account for your student athlete via Final Forms
2. Complete ALL required fields.  

  • Contact information

  • Health History and Medical Profile

  • Medications

  • Injuries and Hospitalizations

  • Past and Ongoing Health Conditions

  • IHSAA PPE Physician Questions

  • Consent for Medical Care

  • Drug Testing Policy

  • Hendricks Regional Health Sports medicine

  • Concussion and Cardiac Arrest Awareness

  • IHSAA PPE Physical (for Physicians)

If you have questions, regarding the process of registering your student/athlete in the FINAL FORMS system, or the athletic physical process in general, please contact Mrs. Schmidt in the TWMS office at 317-994-4201.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

All student athletes must enroll in the Tri-West Hendricks Drug and Alcohol Random Testing Program. Enrollment forms are available in the main office.

Half-Day Rule

An athlete must be present for one-half of the school day to participate in an athletic contest except for extenuating circumstances (i.e., death in the family, medical appointments, etc.)
A half day is defined as three instructional periods. A student who leaves school after 4th period due to illness may not practice or participate in extracurricular activities that evening.

Practice Requirements

An athlete must participate in a minimum of TEN practices before participation in an athletic contest if he/she does not have previous season sport participation. If he/she has previous season sport participation a requirement of five practices must be fulfilled before participation in an athletic contest.

Bus Rules

All athletes and cheerleaders riding a bus to an athletic event must return on the same bus unless he/she returns home with a parent. The athlete's parent must personally seek permission from the coach.

Athletic Events Ticket Information

Ticket prices for all Tri-West Middle School athletic events:

  • Adults and Students - $5.00

  • Senior citizens (age 65+) are admitted free.

  • Children 5 and under will be admitted free with a parent/guardian.

2022-2023 All-Sports Passes:

  • Family ($150)

  • Adult ($50)

  • Student ($40)

*TWMS All-Sports passes are for Tri-West Middle School athletic events only. They may NOT be redeemed for TWHS athletic events.

Other Important General Admission ticket information:

  • ALL General Admission tickets and passes will be sold online through Eventlink. 

  • There will be an option to purchase tickets with cash/credit card at the gate at all athletic events.

  • Eventlink tickets can be pre-purchased and will also be available for purchase at the gate with a debit or credit card.

  • Eventlink does have an App where pre-purchased tickets can be purchased and be visible for use at the event.  

  • All-Sports Passes purchased through Eventlink will automatically show up in the App. You will also receive an email from Eventlink with your pass as a PDF file. You can print that pass and laminate it if you prefer a physical pass. 

To better serve our parents, fans, and community, below are some instructions for creating an Eventlink account with a computer, creating an Eventlink account with the Eventlink App, and how to purchase Eventlink tickets.  We encourage creating an Eventlink account to have access to schedules, notifications with scheduling changes, and purchasing tickets directly from the app.

LIFETIME PASS HOLDERS will be receiving their NEW Pass via the EMAIL you sent to TWHS Athletic Administrative Assistant Rebecca Saylor for that pass.  If you do not have a smart phone, you can PRINT out your pass, or we can print that for you. The NEW pass has a QR code on it that will be scanned at the games when you enter. YOU WILL STILL GET IN AT NO CHARGE with this NEW PASS! 

Coaching Staff

Each coach will have his/her own set of discipline rules by which athletes must abide. the number of participants for each sport in each grade will be determined by the coach of that sport.
