Dear Families:
Thank you for your continued efforts to help us mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Coming off of two consecutive days of having to quarantine several students, I wanted to do a quick follow-up with you. We are concerned that as numbers increase across the community and country, we could experience issues. That is why it is more important than ever to follow the protocols we have in place. Overall, we are not seeing the virus spread at our schools, however, we have specific guidelines that have been put in place for the protection of all students It is vital, now more than ever, that we stay vigilant in following our guidance. We would ask that you please support our efforts to keep our schools open.
A couple of reminders:
If your child is asked to quarantine, they are not allowed to attend school or any function on school grounds (including games, rec programs, etc.). According to CDC guidelines they should stay home. I have attached the Quarantine Guidelines from ISDH. Students and parents who fail to follow these guidelines when asked are in violation of our school policies. We are always happy to discuss with you the reasons for our decisions.
Another important part of our plan is staying home when symptomatic. I have attached a flyer with symptoms that preclude students from attending school until they have a doctor excuse or negative test.
I know this is a very difficult time for families, however, if we fail to follow protocols for ALL students, we run the risk of shutting down schools again. This is such a critical time, and I want us to stay vigilant so that we can keep students and staff as safe as possible. We are grateful for your cooperation and support.
